Editorial only. Not regulated financial advice.

sufinance.xyz is an educational reference. The savings-goal calculator is a methodology tool, not a substitute for engaged regulated advice on your specific household plan.

1. No financial advice

The three calculator modes — required monthly contribution, time-to-goal, and required interest rate — are descriptive financial mathematics, not personalised recommendations. Nothing on sufinance.xyz constitutes financial advice within the meaning of the Singapore Financial Advisers Act 2001, the SEC Investment Advisers Act, MiFID II, or comparable foreign regimes. For personalised goal-planning, vehicle selection, or product recommendations, engage an MAS-licensed financial adviser or equivalent licensed professional in your jurisdiction.

2. Limitations of the model

The calculator assumes a constant monthly interest rate, a constant monthly contribution, and a deterministic compounding schedule. Real savings vehicles deviate from these assumptions in routine ways: variable-rate accounts change rates over the savings period; equity-oriented vehicles have realised returns that vary materially from any single point estimate; CPF Ordinary Account interest is paid annually and at a regulated rate that has changed over time. The calculator output is a planning baseline; actual outcomes can differ.

3. Inflation is not modelled

The calculator works in nominal currency: a S$50,000 goal stated today is reached as a nominal S$50,000 in the future, regardless of how much purchasing power that represents. For long-horizon goals (children’s education, retirement) the inflation effect is material; consider working in real terms by inflating the nominal goal before entering it, or by reducing the assumed return by the assumed inflation rate. The education page works through the inflation adjustment in detail.

4. No guarantee of accuracy

Although the calculator has been reviewed by a CFP® and tested against worked examples in the CFP Board curriculum on time-value-of-money mathematics, software contains bugs and editorial content contains errors. If you spot a discrepancy, write to the editorial desk via the contact page; calculation discrepancies are prioritised and resolved within five business days where reproducible.

5. Third-party content

Outbound links to third-party websites are provided as a convenience; sufinance.xyz is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the editorial team and reviewer expressly disclaim liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of, or inability to use, sufinance.xyz, including but not limited to financial losses, missed goals, or decisions made in reliance on calculator output.
